Is your insurance company trying to raise your premium rates next year?

Is your insurance company trying to raise your premium rates next year? Did you know consumers can submit comments to challenge rate increase proposals that they believe are too high? According to New York State Law, the Department of Financial Services can review proposed rates in the individual and small group markets.

They consider many factors when approving rate increases, including objections filed by consumers like you!  Last year, after reviewing consumer comments, the rates that were approved were significantly less than what was requested.

Please note the comment period is very short and Consumers must file comments/rate objections within 30 days of the post mark date of the notice they receive from their insurer about their proposed rate increase for the coming plan year (on or around July 1, 2018). To file a rate increase comment follow the link below. If you need help submitting a comment call CHA at 888-614-5400.
